After just a few days of setting up my resume, I could see that it was getting a lot of attention…far more than it got on monster.com and career builder combined! Naturally, I wanted to get my hands on the stats and decided to pay for the premium service and I’m glad I did. When I saw the referring links leading into my resume site, I discovered new ways that some people searched online and was better prepared to interact when those recruiters contacted me. I’m loving the site. Thanks again!

We have just pushed live a rather large redesign to the internal interface. We are actively seeking feedback and bug reports from all of this, so please drop us a line and let us know what you think!
Here is a rundown of the changes:
- Much wider screen use, way more white space, and a new page header.
- The “Send” tab has been consolidated to a “Distribution” sub-tab under the new “Resume” tab (the equivalent of “Edit” before)
- In the “Send” tabs place, you will find “Website”. By promoting Website from the Share tab to its own tab allows us to expand on the functionality offered. Website profiles have been moved here as well.
- A new “Network” tab has been created to house a “Contacts” feature. We added Network contacts quietly a few weeks back for testing and response has been fairly strong. Expect some more neat things in the near future here.
- The “Account” link at the top of the interface has been promoted to its own area under the “Home” tab. This should help make it much easier to find.
Please let us know your thoughts. We are striving to find the right balance between Web2.0 and “professional” as we expand our service. With your help we are confident we will nail it
Expect more big things soon.

When evaluating a job lead, your due diligence in researching your potential new employer is important. Set aside a little bit of time before your interview to research the company you are considering.
Look for information on company structure, work place culture, corporate finances and maybe even a few of your potential new coworkers. Developing a deeper understanding of the environment will prepare you to discuss details and enjoy a more thorough interview. Proper research will give you a better sense of whether or not you will enjoy the new job. You will also be in a better position to negotiate salary if the interview proves successful.
An interview is just as much for your sake as it is for theirs. You can be sure that the employer will be researching you, take the time to properly gather information on their organization. Use this simple guide to help you in researching companies.

Emurse is a fantastic service. My expectations were exceeded the moment I started receiving email statistics for those viewing my resume. Further, I love the fact that I can provide additional information to recruiters about my interests, have my resume available on the web and add a widget to my blog for those who want to quickly access my professional background. The team at Emurse is responsive, diligent and great to work with when seeking additional information. I highly recommend the service.

“Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.”
Winston Churchill
Staying positive while job hunting can be tough, especially if it’s been awhile since your last success. Looking for a new job is right up there with moving on the list of things people dread doing. Unfortunately, job hunting takes a whole lot longer than packing a truck. Landing the perfect job is largely an outcome of maintaining a great attitude. As hard as it may be, it is absolutely crucial to remain optimistic — even after the worst of interviews.
Everyone has a bad interview now and then. Even the most patient person gets frustrated after getting the run around. It is important to know how to handle these mini-travesties when they happen.
Here are some quick ways to shake it off, find the silver lining and get your job search right back on track.
