Knock knock

Who’s there? Customization. Customization who? That’s as far as I’ve gotten so far, but once I think of a punch line, it’s going to be a killer.

We’ve just pushed live the ability to rename sections to whatever you’d like. Want to make your “Work Experience” say “Relevant Experience” instead? Or perhaps you’d like to write it out in Spanish? Once you rename the section, you’re free to add another “Work Experience” section and do the same. Effectively, you can create any number of combinations of sections based on the templates that we’ve provided.

It’s just the first step in giving our users total control over their resume. Enjoy :)

How to: With your mouse, hover over the section title. A menu will pop up with all sorts of fun options, one of them, is “Rename Section.”

Here’s a suggestion for customization: Sharing the resume without all the personal information. I would like to share the resume open and not password-protected, but would rather not publish my home address and phone number to the internet. Maybe just checkboxes next to the items in the edit content screen, or just a general checkbox to publish with or without the personal info.

thanks for all the hard work!

Hey, I also found you guys on Digg. Thanks for implementing the “rename section” suggestion. Now, like the example you gave, I can have cv’s in different languages.

I look forward to seeing what other new features you’re going to add!

    Thanks again!!

I had another suggestion(these things come to me one at a time, so I might be posting here again later :) ) : the ability to add a page-break? When I download my cv, sometimes there’s a page-break in the middle of a section.

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the kind words of support. We’re working as hard as we can on stuff. Relative silence right now as we prep a few new additions.

I’m also working on refactoring some of the document conversion code. Our goal is to be 100% stable/reliable/fast with it well before we remove the “beta” label ;)

Regarding page breaks. This is something we’ve talked about for awhile now, along with fonts, margins, etc. It’s all on the road map, but no set eta except for “as soon as possible”. We have a couple of highly requested things ahead of it as of now.

Thanks for implementing this feature, and for making a great product!
